The First United Methodist Church in Center, Texas is praying for and mailing Prayer Crosses to our service men and women serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Steve Thomas and his wife, Lisa, are making Prayer Crosses for soldiers and they send them to the soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan. Steve makes the crosses and Lisa wraps them up with a special message rolled up inside the bottom of the cross, letting the soldier know he or she has been prayed for at First United Methodist Church in Center. They don’t know the soldiers, the Thomas’ just wanted to do something to let soldiers know they are remembered. There is no cost for the cross.

First and foremost I would be thrilled to sew for you. I would love to sew for everyone…but since this is a one woman show I can realistically only sew for a couple people a month. I create a very detailed and unique product, so each piece is amazingly labor intensive. My turnaround does reflect this. I work as quickly as I can but I want you thrilled with your bag.

My handbags are unique. No two bags are identical. Every bag is made from a recycled ACU jacket or pants. None of my bags are perfect. They are all made with 100% care, but considering that my bags are made from recycled material there can be minor imperfections that I believe truly add character to the bag. I try to use all pieces in their original state and to use all the pieces of the uniform. I recycle the buttons, Velcro, zippers, etc. More options to come. Currently I offer 2 styles of hand bags and 2 styles of diaper bag. Either hand bag can be enlarged to Diaper bag size.
All hand bags have one pocket and a pen pocket on the inside; there are two useable pockets on the front and a Velcro enclosed pocket on the back of the handbag. All bags come in your choice of fabric for the lining and coordinating ribbon. (Ribbon and/or bows are optional.) Current inventory is limited. I provide all the Velcro for the patches but I DO NOT have the patches themselves. You must provide your own. If you husband doesn’t have extras (Which I am sure if he’s like mine he has stacks) they can be purchased at Military Clothing and Sales. The name tapes can be ordered at most alterations/dry cleaning stores. I am willing to make bags from any uniform, air force, army, navy, police, etc.

This tote is made with a true Army Combat Digital Acu camo and I have added a black grosgrain ribbon trim and bow across the front. I have also shown one with solid black for the bottom and handles and you can choose your ribbon trim color.

My sister and I wanted to take this project a step further and find a way to scream it from the roof tops how proud we are of our loved ones who are serving in the Military; especially during this time of combat. Together we decided that by hand crafting Purses, and Totes or bags as they are sometimes called; we would be able to customize and/or personalize each one individually. Each bag could then represent "Military Pride" to any branch of service. Each purse could be personalized with the name and unit patch that represents that individual soldier. Each Name Tape could be customized to say anything you wanted, Army Brat, Army Wife, Army Mom, Army Proud, etc....
What better way for a Wife, Sister, Mother, Daughter, or Friend to show their "Military Pride" for their loved one, than to carry a "Pride Purse" and have it customized or personalized just for them. What better way to have the item personalized, than using their loved one's uniform for the Purse or Tote.

Soldier Inspired was started when I accidentally melted my daughter's diaper bag. Huh? I get that a lot. I forgot it was in the wash and it ended up in the dryer. Needless to say the entire inside was a melted tiny mess. I was in a bind with no money to replace it. So I "barrowed" a set of my husband's ACUs and made one. It came out really nice too! I now make pretty much anything I can think of. And if you don't like any of the styles I have done or have something else in mind, I am always willing to try a new pattern. So, far I have made purses, diaper bags, skirts, coin purses, adding new things every day!
