Active Heroes - Aiming for Zero (Shepherdsville, KY)
Aiming for Zero provides the national competitive shooting community a channel through which to focus their efforts to support ending veteran suicide. Active Heroes works with clubs across the country to find creative ways within the competitive shooting sports to find creative ways to bring together veterans, military families, and supportive members of the public.
Since most suicides comes at the hand of a firearm, it became a priority of Active Heroes to provide positive, safe, and entertaining opportunities where veterans can apply their firearms skills. While at these events veterans are surrounded by like-minded enthusiasts, they enjoy the camaraderie of fellow veterans, establish new relationships, and have hours of fun! While there they can also learn about programs and services available to them in the public and private sector.
Black Dagger Military Hunt Club Inc (Florida)
Our VA Adaptive Shooting Sports Program focuses on getting our military veterans back on the shooting range for both for fun and competition. We have shooting clinics throughout the year to include trap, sporting clays, and regular range shooting. At least once a year, we have a shooting competition that draws veterans from different military services and eras in a one-of-a-kind shooting competition.
Camp Valor Outdoors (Kingsville, MO)
Camp Valor Outdoors has a competitive shooting program that provides a therapeutic environment while learning fundamental marksmanship. Our competitive shooting program started with service rifle in 2015 and is quickly expanding to include conventional competition pistol and 3-gun. We hope to add F-Class, small bore, shotgun, archery, and air rifle soon.
