The Active Heroes Retreat Center is the first retreat in America designed by military families to help military families heal! Alpha Elite Performance Outdoors (Montgomery, TX)
We are a nonprofit which is all in to support our SOF veterans and those who support them. At Alpha Elite Performance Outdoors, we honor the service of our special operations veterans by providing them with adrenaline outdoor adventure and fellowship. It was that brotherhood while they served that kept them alive and it’s the brotherhood that will continue to do so. We’re not here to raise awareness, we already know what the problems are, we’re just here to attack the issues and provide a solution using outpatient therapy and the outdoors.
Armed Services YMCA - Operation Camp
The Armed Services YMCA offers junior enlisted families the chance to participate in family, youth, and teen camps year-round at our branches and affiliate locations. Camps encourage healthy living as part of our core mission of strengthening our military family. Armed Services YMCA camps and retreats provide much needed recreational and bonding opportunities for military children and families who have experienced multiple deployments.
Through camps and camping opportunities, Armed Services YMCA provides fun, educational and safe outdoor experiences for military children and families to bond, make new friends and build their support networks by connecting with others who have similar backgrounds and experiences as members of the military community.
BandBs for Vets (Veterans Day Bed & Breakfasts)

Band of Runners Trail Camp
Elite & long-time trail runners, coaches & race directors from across the US mentor participants. Band of Runners designed and directed Team RWB’s highly respected National Trail Running Camp. There are sponsored spots for veterans & Gold Star spouses.
Multiple trail runs in the Blue Ridge Mountains with instruction from elite trail runners covering training, technical trail running, hill running, running form, strength training, nutrition, 1st aid, blister care, and night running. Nutritious meals, campfires, storytelling, & fellowship included.
Our goal is to facilitate access to the camaraderie and mentorship that can be found in the trail running community to people who would really benefit from that. We also hope to communicate the restorative experience of time spent running on trails in nature.
A host of world-class athletes and coaches will mentor participants in the technical aspects of trail running, as well as, running form, racing nutrition, training plans, blister care and prevention, stretching and strengthening, and Leave No Trace ethics. There is no fitness requirement.

Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (San Francisco, CA)
The Veterans Sunday Sailing Program with the Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS) provides veterans the opportunity to sail in Access 303 and Access Liberty boats with other veterans every Sunday.

Birdies for the Brave (PGA Tour & Champions Tour events)
Birdies for the Brave offers complimentary admission for active, retired, and reserve military along with their dependents at select PGA TOUR and Champions Tour events. Many tournaments also offer discounted admission for veterans.
Black Dagger Military Hunt Club (Florida)
Black Dagger Military Hunt Club Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides shooting, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor opportunities for veterans and active duty military (wounded and well). We are located in the greater Tampa Bay, Florida area but operate around the state. Many of our volunteers are retired or active duty military with a great deal of tactical and hunting experience. We co-labor with other veteran groups and nonprofits to support those who give their all for our nation!
We serve veterans from all eras without limitation to when or where they served. We work with the James A. Haley VA Hospital’s Adaptive Sports Program in Tampa, Florida, the USSOCOM Care Coalition, and active duty military members on MacDill AFB. In addition, on a case-by-case basis, we will work with veterans supported by other agencies to meet a specific need that our team can satisfy. We serve veterans recovering from and learning to adjust to life with spinal cord injuries (SCI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), loss of sight, and post-traumatic stress (PTS). We have specialized equipment to accommodate some of the most injured military heroes thus helping our honored veterans find their “new normal”.

Blue Star Museums is a program that offers free admission to museums for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Blum's Landing (Millersburg, MI)
Blum's Landing is a place for military personnel who have endured physical and/or mental wounds from serving the country. We are a non-profit bed and breakfast for military personnel and their families to relax, to recoup, and to re-energize from the stress of their current rehab and duties.
Boulder Crest Foundation (Virginia, Arizona)
At Boulder Crest, we consider every member of a combat veteran's family to be a hero. Each member of these families makes considerable sacrifices in support of our nation's military and the freedoms that we all cherish. To that end, we focus our programs on the entire family, in recognition of the stresses and challenges caused by lengthy deployments and the visible and invisible wounds of war.
Combat veterans and their families are able to stay, for free, for 2-7 nights. Each family is eligible for one stay every other calendar year. Camp Bliss (Walker, MN)

Camp Corral Family Camp Retreats (Nationwide)
Camp Corral is now offering a family camp option at select partner camp locations. Family Camp Retreats are all-inclusive including lodging, meals, and a variety of camp activities. The retreat experience offers an opportunity for respite and reconnection within family groups, while offering each family member new experiences that help build confidence and create unforgettable memories.
As always, priority is given to families with a wounded, ill, injured or fallen service member. Please note, the Family Camp Retreat is an alternative to attending the traditional summer camp program.

Camp Gratitude was developed by a partnership of veterans and grateful citizens who want to say "Thanks" to military families. Our mission is to help every family that attends Camp Gratitude relax and have fun while building strength, resilience and connection following deployment.
Because of the increased popularity of Camp Gratitude and the outstanding accommodations of the Vet's Camp on Big Marine Lake, it is recommended applications be submitted as soon as possible.

Camp Liberty provides inclusive outdoor recreation programs that aid in the reintegration of U.S. military service members, veterans, and their families, with an emphasis on assisting those with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries.
Camp Southern Ground (Fayetteville, GA)
Camp Southern Ground’s mission has always been to serve children and veterans by helping them to identify and understand their own gifts and talents. Through our Summer Camp, Warrior Week, and Warrior PATHH programs, we have impacted hundreds of children and veterans and seen first-hand the impact intentional programming can have. This fall, we will leverage that knowledge as a catalyst for Veteran Family Camp.
We know that the experience of being a military family is a unique and often challenging situation. Multiple deployments, suicide, traumatic injuries, and mental health issues are just some of the common challenges which can cause even the most loving families to struggle with communication, unity, and connection. This Family Camp experience will provide the tools and training for each family member to learn more about themselves and each other; and the entire family unit will connect to determine their own values, communication rules, and family mission.
What happens at Family Camp?
Family Camp is a mixture of our traditional summer camp and veteran programs. Over three days, families will participate in fun, engaging activities together in addition to separate child and parent experiences. Families will also participate in activities and meals with other veteran families, creating a community of veteran families that lift up and support each other.
Camp Twin Lakes (Winder, GA)
Camp Twin Lakes’ Family Warrior Weekend (FWW) is a weekend retreat for active and retired service members and their immediate family members of all ages. *Priority is given to veterans and their families who’ve experienced combat, trauma and may have a diagnosis of Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress, MST (military sexual trauma), and ALL women veterans. These camps are held at Camp Twin Lakes Will-A-Way inside Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, GA.
Our goal is to assist and educate participants and to support them physically, mentally, and emotionally. These camps offer service members, veterans and their families a fully accessible camp experience and new skills to take home once they leave camp. As a family, our campers can reconnect and rebuild their foundation in a relaxing and supportive environment.
Participants enjoy camp programming as a family with recreational activities like archery, boating, swimming, climbing wall and other challenge activities, and so much more. We also offer workshops and various skill-based programs as well as information about outside resources to utilize once participants leave camp.
Christian Warriors Retreat - (Goliad, TX)
Christian Warriors Retreat is a Christian (non denomination) retreat with the process of healing and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The retreat begins Thursday evening and ends Sunday afternoon and will be held in twice annually in Crossroads area of South Texas. CWR is designed for veterans by veterans and only accepting males at this time. For 72 hours you will experience music, worship, speakers, and participate in small groups where you will experience love and grace of God through acts of service. (Female Veteran retreat is in process of being created).
Compass Point Veteran Outreach (Port Sanilac, MI)
Compass Point Veteran Outreach offers sailing classes to veterans and their families. As a 501c(3) non-profit organization, both classroom sailing instruction and on the water training is completely complimentary.
Deployed Family Outdoors (Houston, TX)
Deployed Family Outdoors is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving and supporting our military and their families by providing unique and unforgettable outdoor adventures which strengthen family relationships and create valuable, lifelong lessons and memories. Deployed Family Outdoors has several programs to get the families and children of our military into the outdoors. Depending on which time of year it is, we do everything from taking kids to harvest their first deer or turkey, to bringing them out to experience what its like to catch tailing Redfish and Speckled Trout.

Eagle Rock Camp (Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin)
Eagle Rock Camp reconnects military families at therapeutic retreats that are faith based, build a healthy spirit and strong family bonds.
We believe that when the troops serve, the whole family serves. To honor, respect and empower these brave men, women and their children, we created secluded and very special settings that are free from the distractions of daily life. This allows our military families to focus on each other and to better handle the challenges of invisible and visible wounds.
Our families attend 6 day/5 night retreats at no charge to them. The entire family learns life skills that provide positive, life changing experiences so they can recharge their energy and spirits, while learning to live life better and enhance family relationships. They learn to have fun together, once again.

English River Outfitters is part of the healing process for veterans. Our priority is to help foster a healthy readjustment back to civilian life through a positive outdoor experience.
Veterans and families served at English River Outfitters experience a variety of therapeutic, group-based activities designed to re-establish confidence, hope, and health. In addition to our weekend retreats for veterans, we also hold special programs to serve children from Gold Star families, as well as ladies-only veteran camp-out events.
What Makes English River Outfitters different? We believe there is healing in nature, and therefore we emphasize an outdoor experience where veterans can fish, hunt, and hike in the woodlands surrounding our facilities. Veterans with physical disabilities are able to participate fully using our all-terrain wheelchairs. The veterans we serve participate in sporting activities that challenge and empower them, all while immersed in Iowa's natural, refreshing wilderness.

FAVE Boating Expeditions (Ruskin, FL)
FAVE Boating Expeditions started out by providing a variety of boating trips to those who had endured the death of a Fallen Warrior. Over the years we have expanded the program to provide boating trips to any American Hero (Veterans, Military Service Members, Fire Fighters, Law Enforcement Officers (both active and retired), and their families, as well as, Blue, Silver & Gold Star Family Members.
Fishing for Freedom Quincy - June 2-4, 2023 (Quincy, Illinois)
Fishing For Freedom - Quincy is a no entry fee bass, catfish, and crappie tournament that pairs our warriors (active military and veterans) with our boaters (professional anglers, avid tournament fishermen, fishing guides, and local outdoorsmen) for a fun day of fishing on our local fisheries. Fishing For Freedom - Quincy cannot give back all the lost time away from the great outdoors during deployment, but we can give back a weekend. We do that by providing our Warriors with a weekend full of entertainment and enjoyment of the great outdoors with their fellow Veterans and active duty personnel, as well as the general public. This event is designed to provide our Warriors with events that range from a fish fry, trapshooting, archery, live music, a Heroes Banquet, and a day of fun tournament fishing on the Mighty Mississippi River or Mark Twain Lake. We also have private lake(s) where we take our Warriors who cannot easily fish from a boat to ensure their safety and well-being.
Fishing for Freedom - October 6-8, 2023 (Truman Lake, Missouri)

Flyin' Heroes (West Michigan)
Flyin’ Heroes is a program that utilizes the sport of fly fishing to promote therapeutic growth and rehabilitation of U.S. military veterans.
The goal of Flyin’ Heroes is to create memorable fly fishing experiences that unlock the healing power of the water and foster lasting relationships.

Forest Home offers a military campership available for our active military personnel and their immediate families who wish to attend family camp. The award is equal to 75% off of the economy housing price. The families may upgrade to standard housing and pay the difference in cost however.
Freedom Hunters

Join other veterans and their families for FREE activities to strengthen family bonds before, during and after military deployment. Home Base collaborates with businesses and non-profit community organizations throughout New England who host the Adventure Series activities. Hunts for Healing Foundation - Family Camp (NE Pennsylvania)
Founded February 2009, Hunts for Healing was created to establish a fund to sponsor wounded soldiers returning from military missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and veterans who have successfully completed a mental and physical evaluation; allowing them to participate in outdoor programs including, but not limited to, hunter safety, clay target shooting, pheasant, upland and small game hunting, fishing and camping.
Hunts for Healing events take place primarily in Northeastern Pennsylvania, but in the future may extend beyond our state borders. Our mission and field of interest are to create an atmosphere that promotes challenges in the outdoors and healing from within.
With the assistance of volunteer guides, mentors and trained field dogs, the experiences Hunts for Healing provides aides in the physical, emotional and spiritual healing, as well as, providing social interaction that allows the soldiers to transition back into their daily lives.

Kieve Wavus Education expresses our thanks and gratitude for their service to our nation by offering veterans and their families a stress-free week-long program at our Veterans Camps. My Warrior's Place (Ruskin, FL)
The mission of My Warrior's Place is to honor, support and promote healing of the mind and spirit by providing a relaxed setting, special programs and to be a resource for any Military Service Member, Veteran, Fire Fighter, Law Enforcement Officer (active or retired), Blue Star, Silver Star or Gold Star Family Member whose life has been touched and forever changed due to a tragic event and/or the death of a Fallen Warrior while in service to our country. My Warrior's Place's mission is also to provide a safe refuge and bring about healing and hope to all veterans and military service members who have returned from the battlefield.
Our vision is to be the most desired refuge for all Veterans, Military Service Members, Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters, Blue Star, Silver Star & Gold Star Families. Additionally, in the future, to have other “My Warrior’s Place” facilities and programs throughout the United States wherever there is a military base and a large population of veterans.
National Parks - Free entrance pass
Active duty service men and women – Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and activated National Guard and Reserves – can obtain the new military version of the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Annual Pass. The pass will be accepted at National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Army Corps sites that charge entrance or standard amenity fees.
Military members and their dependents can pick up a pass at any national park or wildlife refuge that charges an entrance fee or other selected sites. Members must show a current, valid military identification card to obtain their pass. The pass is also available to dependents of active duty personnel.
Where there are entrance fees, the pass covers the owner and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle at recreation sites that charge per vehicle. Warrior Family Retreat
There are many military programs to help warriors transition from the battlefront to the homefront, but the families are often left to deal with deployment challenges on their own. Through the Warrior Family Retreats, families of military personnel who have been deployed overseas can get away to the country for a weekend retreat and family healing time.
Since 2010 the program has helped military families address the transition challenges experienced by their soldier or sailor returning from a long separation and the realities of war. Husbands and wives work with certified equine-assisted therapists to learn new life skills and reconnect as loving partners. Children get the opportunity to share their deployment experiences with peers and art therapists. Everyone enjoys stress-free, fun time handling and riding horses and making a lifetime of memories.

Pine Cove is a gospel-centered Christian camp with ten camp properties in East Texas, Central Texas, and South Carolina, and a traveling day camp program that brings camp to dozens of locations across the Southeast. Pine Cove is a growing, longstanding ministry with 50 years of camping experience. Pine Cove energetically serves more than 30,000 campers each summer with awesome activities, highly trained counselors, and a Christ-centered, others-focused, and seriously fun outlook.

Semper Fi Odyssey (For transitioning, active duty injured service members and veterans)
Semper Fi Odyssey is a six-day, holistic transition-assistance event with a curriculum designed to get participants ready for life after military service while preparing them for success. Retreat sessions have between twenty-five and thirty-five participants attending. All participants will be grouped into teams of three to five and each team is assigned a Team Leader that is committed to each participant’s individual progress. Our veteran Team Leaders, many of whom have walked in the same shoes as our participants, are carefully screened volunteer business professionals who have successfully transitioned out of the military and into the civilian workplace.
Due to the generosity of Semper Fi Fund donors, partners, and volunteers, the Semper Fi Odyssey program is provided at no expense to the participants; our transitioning, active duty injured service members and veterans. Accordingly, SFO is a collaborative effort to give back to our men and women who have honorably worn the uniform.

S.K.I.F.F. stands for Soldiers' Kids Involved in Fishing Fun. S.K.I.F.F. fishing trips for kids are absolutely free of charge to the children of soldiers deployed in harm's way, and to the children of soldiers who died while on active duty.
S.K.I.F.F. trips are paid for by donations from the membership of the Austin Fly Fishers and by funds they raise for this worthy cause. Austin Fly Fishers is a fly fishing club based in Austin, Texas. Your children do not have to be referred or recommended by another individual to participate. All it takes is a phone call from a parent to get the ball rolling.

The Special Liberty Project provides outdoor adventures to healing veterans and Gold Star Families. Family survivors of active-duty and veteran suicides also are welcomed and embraced at all of our events and programs just like all traditional Gold Star Families. State Parks - New Hampshire
Active members of any military branch regardless of residence are granted free admission to day-use areas for themselves only with presentation of their military ID.
New Hampshire disabled veterans are admitted free of charge at all day-use parks. Special number plates issued to disabled veterans or a letter issued by the United States Department of Veteran Affairs certifying that the veteran suffers from a service-connected disability shall constitute satisfactory proof under this section.
Take a Soldier Fishing
We assist communities at large, by offering them the ability to show their support for the troops by sponsoring our Take A Soldier Fishing program. This allows service members to see just how much they are appreciated. For those that serve to support our fishing program, it gives the individual the ability to see how their support makes a profound difference in a service member or veterans life by providing a safe and positive outdoor experience.
We strive to show that there are people out there that care, and want to help. By providing these events, we have found they give the soldiers something to look forward to. We have also found that soldiers have also changed their outlook on life - the way they feel about wearing their uniform and a new sense of hope.

As a very small way of saying "Thank You" for all of the hard work and sacrifices men and women in the military make, campgrounds and RV parks around the nation would like to offer free camping for active military. These RnR vacations and rewards rely on luxury resorts and hotels to donate unused inventory to Troop Rewards. Warrior Expeditions
Warrior Expeditions supports combat veterans transitioning from their military service by participating in long distance outdoor expeditions.
In 1948, Earl Shaffer told a friend he was going to “walk off the war” to work out the sights, sounds, and losses of World War II. Four months later, Earl Shaffer became the first person to hike the entire length of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.
Following in Earl Shaffer’s footsteps and in recognizing the therapeutic effects of long distance outdoor expeditions, Warrior Expeditions created the Warrior Hike, Warrior Bike, and Warrior Paddle programs which are designed to help combat veterans transition from their military service.
Warriors and Quiet Waters (Bozeman, MT)
HUNT FOR PURPOSE - Guiding combat veterans to purpose through archery elk hunting. Hunt for Purpose is designed to guide post-9/11 combat veterans to a greater sense of clarity around their identity, values, potential, and purpose. For many post-9/11 combat veterans, purpose is found by rising to meet a meaningful challenge. Our newest alumni program, Hunt for Purpose, is an intensive, 6 month pursuit to plan, prepare for, and execute a successful archery elk hunt in Montana’s backcountry. Welcome Home Troops
Welcome Home Troops was founded in 2007 and established as a 501(c)(3) by February 2008. We have provided tickets for troops in California, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nevada, and Louisiana. Our events have included NHRA, NASCAR, Baseball, Wrestling, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Academy of Country Music, and small events for specific returning or deploying units in Dallas, California, and Nevada.
We have found that our most successful program is our Annual NASCAR event and Tailgate Party held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway; where we have hosted 3,000 at the Sprint Cup and as many as 1,800 for a single day event at our tailgate party.
We have provided nearly 40,000 tickets nationally for military families. We have sent over 40,000 cups of coffee to troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. While we are proud of all that we have accomplished, we know as an organization with our vision we are capable of doing so much more.

Active-duty Soldiers and their families will enjoy one week of fun and relaxation. Each of our camp locations offers an assortment of activities and ample opportunity to just relax and enjoy some much-needed peace and quiet. With spectacular views and lots of recreation options and fun activities, it's the perfect place for your family to unwind together. Single parent families and families with a deployed spouse are encouraged to attend as well. Please note: Young Life is a Christian organization, but that is not a requirement to attend. Not free but available at a greatly reduced rate.
